Miss Grace Burbank and Birch Street School kindergarten class, circa 1910. Biddeford's first public kindergarten was established in 1899 at Birch Street School and Miss Burbank was the first teacher. Graham Street can be seen the rear. Partially identified - REAR ROW (R-L): Alfred O. Robbins; Herbert Beaumont; Robert Post, son of the minister at the White Church.

St. Joseph's School, Biddeford, circa 1900. St. Joseph's School was located on Birch Street, and built in 1887. The first classes began in September 1888.

Emery School, Birch and Hill Streets, Biddeford, 1955. This grammar school was built in 1912, and classes began in 1913. It was named in honor of Thomas H. Emery, a famous Biddeford teacher, who taught in Biddeford schools from 1865 to 1890. He died in 1899 at the age of 67. The school was remodelled into senior apartments about 2012.
