Basket Island near Hills Beach Me. Circa 1925. NOTE: Carr Notes: Bootleggers used Basket Island to store liquor. Would put the bottles in Barrels and cover them with clams and seaweed. Then truck to Boston. Richard Bonser, as a kid, bought clams from Clark for a quarter. |
