Description |
First Universalist Church, City Square (confluence of Adams, Jefferson and South Streets), 1955. Built in 1867, the church steeple had to be lowered in 1954 because of hurricane damage. The Soldier's Monument at right was erected in 1887 as a memorial to Biddeford's veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865. The church building has since been torn down, and a bank was built on the spot. |
